This partnership was brought to our attention by Board of Education member Mr. Stanek. This program includes students being trained to take the assessments for the following certifications CNA, Phlebotomist, EKG and Personal Care Technician. Select students of the graduating class of 2026, who are will be able to complete 23 credits of coursework by the end of the first semester, will be able to attend Griffin Hospitals School of Allied Health for the remainder of the 25-26 school year. Three Seymour High School credits will be awarded for the successful completion of this program towards graduation as elective credit which can be counted towards Health, Elective, Life Skills or STEM graduation requirement. A partnership has also been developed by the administration for tuition for this program and possibly other programs to follow. Tuition will be paid for grant funding provided by The Workplace which is our local workforce investment board. Interviews will be held in February for students who wish to pursue this opportunity. There are currently 6 spots in this program open per a year. Optimally students will have prepared during their 9-11th grades in order to acquire the necessary credits to participate in this program Senior Year.
