Students are encouraged to participate in a rigorous course of study while attending Seymour High School. This rigorous course of study includes; Advanced Placement (AP) Courses, and Early College Experience (ECE) Courses.
Students who participate in AP level courses and who score 3, 4, or 5 have the potential to earn college credit in many public and private universities. Students who have earned college credit prior to university acceptance are often provided preferential treatment when registering for courses and housing selection. These students may also earn enough college credits to graduate from the university early. The table below lists the AP/College level course offered at Seymour High School.

Seymour High School also offers Early College Experience Courses (ECE) from the University of Connecticut (UCONN). In order to earn credit in these courses the students must complete the proper registration packets including UCONN fees and meet the standard of the college level assessments integrated into the courses. All students who take any of the UCONN ECE Courses are required to apply to the ECE program and will incur an application cost payable to UCONN.
