Senior Week 2024

By: Monim Hoque

During February at Sewanhaka High School, Senior Week took place. As their time at Sewanhaka draws to a close, seniors around the school are joyful and eager as they make their way to colleges and universities. In this article, I asked seniors, teachers, and fellow peers how they feel about Senior Week.

“Senior week is going to be fun and crazy,” says Shanti Jean-Louis, a senior at Sewanhaka High School. “I’m looking forward to it, and I’m going to miss my friends and time here at Sewanhaka. It’s been a fun journey."

Shanti wasn't the only one excited about the senior week. Nuhad Islam, a senior, says, "Honestly, I had a great time here in Sewanhaka, and I won't forget the memories that I made here, and so I appreciate being acknowledged and appreciate Senior Week Awareness.” Many other seniors from the building also agree with those two.

Furthermore, Mrs. Hungria, a Spanish teacher at Sewanhaka, says, “I just want to say congratulations to any seniors graduating this year, and I hope you enjoyed your senior year.” She continues and says, “Good luck on your journeys as adults.” Moreover, sophomore Ipsaan Sedhai says, “I just want to say that I hope all seniors had a good time in Sewanhaka, and best of luck to the Class of 2024!”. Justin Seeram, 10th grade in Sewanhaka, adds, “Shoutout to the Class of 2024! I would like to also have people acknowledge me when I’m graduating, so I stand with Senior Week Awareness!” Yousuf Shazad, a 10th grader, agrees by saying, “Senior Week Awareness is the time to acknowledge the seniors of Sewanhaka, and I would like to wish them the best of luck and know that Sewanhaka will miss you guys.”

Students all over the building agree that it’s important to acknowledge our seniors as they are moving on to their next chapter of life. Best of luck to the Class of 2024, Sewanhaka. We will miss you.
