Sewanhaka’s Homecoming

It’s that time again, Sewanhaka! Welcome to the Indians’ 2022 season for varsity

football. With an impressive and hard-working roster, your Sewanhaka Indians are ready to show other teams what they’re really made of. As football season progresses, our players continue to show off their great strength and talent on the field every Saturday!

Although starting the season off with wins against JFK, Herricks, Long Beach, and MacArthur high schools, it has been a rough stretch for the team these past 2 weeks. During this year’s Homecoming, our beloved team played against Calhoun. With a score of 26-7, we sadly lost. Sewanhaka struggled to find the scoreboard in this game, but I know what we are capable of and I believe the team can step it up in the next game. “The goal for us is to ensure that through all the winning and all the losing, [we] make sure that we stay true to ourselves and stay together as a team,” says Sewanhaka’s wide receiver and cornerback Mohammad Danial. A couple of games down and plenty left to go, they aren’t going down without a fight!

Looking forward, we hope the football team’s efforts pay off and carry the school to multiple victories. Always remember; it’s always great to show support, so come and cheer for the Sewanhaka Indians! We believe in you!
