This shrine is located in Kandivali Charkop and is built on the footpath by the locals
On the right side of the shrine is a Vachnalay and on the left side of it is a water tank
The shrine covers the whole width of the footpath, making it impossible to walk through it And the residential building behind has always been against of the shrine
This site brings in an idea of open, semi open and closed mass and is built with a metal frame structure
Considering this language of the site, I started with my design process
The program I worked with for my design was a thoroughfare keeping in mind the original language of the shrine and engaging the people of the building behind to have some interaction with the activities happening ahead
Repeated Metal frames becomes the elements of this structure with the operating strategy of folding to create spaces
Eliminating the compound wall behind and adding the folded frames horizontally removes the visual partition and allows the people of the building interact with the shrine
