This is a small shrine in Ban Ganga, Walkeshwar. It is next to a home cum garage which hums with activities as mechanics work on two-wheelers. Just a narrow lane away lies a general store which buzzes with people picking up daily essentials. Children often gather in the shaded area by the shrine, seamlessly blending the sacred with the everyday life of the community.

COLLAGE
To further capture the observations, we created a collage that focused on various elements that we encountered. This collage not only served as a visual record but also helped us to get essence of the site. Through the collage I tried showing different fenestrations and openings in one facade also keeping the focus on the thoroughfare.

DEVELOPING A SYNTAX
I started working on a public space that helps in the interaction of the thoroughfare, the shrine and the garage activities. Also the language of my design became fenestrations/ openings of different kinds so as to provide seating area, storage area, some openings just for light and ventilation while other for interactions by using the operative strategy like pivot and this process helped in designing the volumetric configuration of the design.
