Located on Carter Road in Borivali West, this shrine was built by the 'autorikshaw mitra mandal' who wait by this auto stand right in front of it. It was built around three years ago. The shrine has an interesting form as it emerges from the existing wild fig tree.
Context
With heavy traffic and an auto stand, a huge crowd pours into this lane. The shrine has small snack shops on both the sides. The auto stand right in front of it invites ques of people especially in the evening . Behind and opposite the shrine are residential complexes.

Collage
The collage portrays organic form emerging out of the inorganic form. As observed on the site, the organic form of the tree is surrounded by a very inorganic and orthogonal structure that supports the shrine around the tree.

Final Model
The design offers a resting space for the daily commuters to have a quick morning breakfast from the stalls around or a warm evening tea after returning from work in the evening . It also provides a space for the auto drivers' community to have lunch, take a nap upstairs or simply relax.
