Shrine was build by the people living there in the slums below the skywalk in the year 2000. So the area below the skywalk has become quite dark and underutilized. I wanted to address this by designing the shrine in a way that brings harmony between the structure and the surrounding community. The houses in the nearby slums are build with simple , makeshift materials , yet they are a strong symbol of resilience and adaptability. This inspired me to reflect the softness and organic nature of these homes in the design .

COLLAGE
The idea was not to create a sharp contrast between the shrine and its surrounding but rather to blend the two in a way that feels familiar and inviting. My concept involves utilizing the skywalk as a core structural element , draping the shrine around it in a way that the construction techniques used in the slum . This draping effect creates a soft , rhythmic form, symbolizing the flow of life and the connection between the shrine , the skywalk and the people who live nearby.
FINAL DRAWINGS & MODEL
In the final one I tried to work with logic and geometry and created a structure through railing all around the skywalk where the railing become the roof ,where it is becoming column , where devision between houses over there , where its acts like a wall and many more. Also I tried to blend two thing i.e softness and rigidity at the same time in the structure.
