About Site
The site caught my attention as it presented an unique condition due to the coexistence of an autorickshaw stand and the shops. Barber shops in India itself are unique institutions. People not only go their for the services but it also serves social purposes, it acts as a community center. Similarly the decorator's shop becomes a hangout space. The tea stall invites public as well.
These conditions transform the footpath into becoming a space for waiting, resting, gathering, socializing.
The intent was to create a flexible form that could be modified by people according to their requirements.
The idea therefore, was to make an unconventional sitting as an extention to the footpath. The chairs flowing onto the footpath shaped the practice of space.

Chair became a critical element of design. The basic form of chair was modified by changing the shape, size, and orientation but keeping its basic features intact.
The operation was stacking the chairs such that they step up to the tree. The changing levels result in varying vantages. The orientation of chairs tells abouth the site.
