Site: Eksar public school. Outside the school, i could see parents waiting for their children, forming small clusters of conversations. Students gathered near the bus stop. I could also see auto drivers and other people having vadapav outside the school. I’ve created a waiting area for both students and visitors, while also accommodating the needs of the vadapav vendor right outside the school. First, the boundary wall was shifted, creating more open space within and outside the school premises. The inclusion of a watchman's cabin within the waiting area ensured security and shelter for the watchman. In some places, parts of the wall protruding outward have been used to create shaded areas.
Observation drawing
The footpath was occupied by a vadapav vendor, hindering pedestrian movement. Students were forced to walk on the roadside. A large number of parents and students gathering after school had limited space due to this obstruction. The auto stand occupied a significant portion of the area, leaving inadequate space for parents to wait comfortably.

Process drawings
The process consists of conceptualizing an open waiting room with a cabin by shifting the boundary wall in some places and integrating seating and shade into the design.

Final drawings
The final design combines a staircase with a cabin that together form the waiting area by providing seating, storage and shade both inside and outside the cabin. It considers the needs of the Vadapav vendor, creating a separate area with seating options at various levels to cater to different preferences.
