Working independently or in small groups, students will produce a 3-5 minute fictional short film. Groups may choose a screenplay from the individual screenplay assignment or write an original screenplay.
The story should have a protagonist(s) that has a want or need, an antagonist or obstacle standing in their way, a conflict, a climax, and a conclusion. Or not. That's the beauty of the short film genre -- you get to decide what happens in your film. For instance, without giving it away, the short film, DIG follows no particular storytelling conventions, but is captivating and thought-provoking.
