Born and raised in Southern California, Ashlyn Brown has earned her Bachelors of Arts in Music Education and Master of Arts in Teaching at Point Loma Nazarene University. There she studied both Choral and Instrumental conducting and pedagogy.
Ashlyn performed as a flutist throughout her High School years in the school's Concert Band and Symphonic Band and was awarded the John Philip Sousa Award. She also performed as the Principal Flutist for the East County Youth Symphony. In college, she could be seen performing in the University's Choir, Band, and Orchestra.
Ashlyn has spent the majority of her teaching career in classroom as a Music Director for students in Kindergarten through the 8th grade. She has taught 10+ ensembles including Choirs, Concert Bands, String Orchestras, and Full Orchestras. When she is not in the classroom, she teaches Flute and Piano students of all ages in her private studio.
During her free time, Ashlyn loves to practice and spend time with family. Her husband is also a musician and can be seen performing drums and percussion around San Diego. They welcomed their first baby boy in August 2021 and they love sharing their passion for music with him!
