Dear students,

Welcome to a new week of learning and connection.

This week: AI & the Brain – How Technology Can Support Lifelong Learning

This week’s lesson focuses on how lifelong learning supports brain health, memory, and independence as we age—and how AI-powered tools can enhance that process. From brain-training apps to conversational platforms like ChatGPT, these technologies offer personalized and engaging ways for older adults to stay mentally active. While AI can adapt to individual learning needs, it's important to use it mindfully, as overreliance may reduce independent thinking. We'll explore the science behind aging and cognition, the benefits and challenges of using digital tools, and practical strategies for using AI safely, effectively, and with confidence.

Last Week: Gender & the Brain – Biological, Social & Transgender Research

Last week, we explored how sex and gender are more complex than binary categories. We learned that biology, brain science, and lived experience all contribute to shaping identity. Most importantly, we discussed the importance of respect, affirmation, and inclusion in supporting the well-being of transgender and gender-diverse individuals.
