Abstract

The World Council for Curriculum and Instruction National Student Chapter conducted its Fifth National and First ASEAN Student Teachers’ Conference with a theme “Strengthening Teacher Education: WCCI Response to ASEAN Integration” on October 2-3, 2015 at St. Paul College, Pasig City, Philippines. The Education department in St. Dominic College of Asia plays an important role in this convention. This study uses paper presentation as an action research project. Student teachers in St. Dominic College of Asia demonstrated their expected outcomes during their paper presentations as regards to the SDCA Life Formula (RM2USIC4). The researcher revealed that students were very successful in their group performances and that they are very much interconnected in their teaching profession. Student teachers also developed their self-confidence and broadened their perspectives and goals in their field. It is recommended that more student teachers from other schools particularly in the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education (SASE) should continue in getting actively involved in the programs such as in World Council for Curriculum and Instruction National Student Chapter Conferences for their personal and professional growth aside from demonstrating the students’ leadership competence and goodwill.
