Harvest soup was held on Oct 10th this year. It is a great MPE tradition and opportunity to show the kids how planting seeds in the spring produces veggies that create the food we eat.
The students planted the seeds last spring and harvested them the week of the 10th. They then participated in the veggie prep on Oct 9th.
Huge thank you to all the volunteers that made this a very fun event and a great day for our students.
Students got to enjoy our first movie night this month, with a new big screen and more powerful projectors. Thanks to our PAC for putting together such a fun night for our student body.
Students in the two Dontas brothers classrooms have put up posters of themselves outside the hall. Students had discussions about identity and
Fire Drills, Earthquake Drills and more. Students have been practicing for emergency preparedness.
Our Grade 4 and 7 students started the FSA this month. These standardize assessments give us a great little snapshot of how our students are doing in their reading, writing and math. Results will be available at the end of January. We use these results to help our school planning and ensure we stay on track with how our school is performing in these academic areas.
This year our students enjoyed some great Halloween Fun.
Both our Primary and Intermediate students paraded around the gym in the morning, and our Grade 7 students put on a terrifying haunted house in the gym for our intermediate students.
A good day was had by all.
Our student vote happened on Oct 18th. Mrs. Unruh's class took a leadership roll in organizing the event and running the vote.
1.2 million elementary and secondary school students participated in Student Vote Canada 2019, coinciding with the 2019 federal election.
After learning about the electoral process, researching the parties and platforms, and debating Canada’s future, students cast their ballots for the official candidates running in their school’s riding.
In total, 1,199,939 votes were reported from 8,097 schools, with results from 338 federal ridings.

It was a great way for our students to hear their collective voice
