Students in Mrs. Desbrisay and Mrs. Davies' class hosted a winter market for our intermediate students this past Wednesday. Each student created their own production line of gifts and sold them to their friends. We saw self designed cell phone cases, hats, art, cutting boards, baked goods, cards and Christmas ornaments to name a few. I was so impressed with the creativity and innovation of from these future entrepreneurs.
In Mrs. Unruh's class students have been sanding, painting, hammering nails and brainstorming meaningful words. Students have been creating meaningful trees this week.
On December 12, 2018, Mrs. Howe's class hosted a parent play day. Students and parents shared some reading time, and were able to create Gingerbread people wearing winter clothing. It was a great day and a great opportunity to get families inside the classroom.
This week with the heaps of snow, Mrs. Akhurst brought out a team of grade 6's and 7's to build a safe and functional sledding hill for our K/1 students. They worked hard and collaboratively to build steps and safe runs so our youngest students could enjoy the hill in safe manner! Good work MPE leaders.
Parents came into Mrs. Sumalings class this afternoon and build some amazing Gingerbread houses.
Students in Mrs Hamersley's class have been learning to knit this past week. Not only is this a good skill to learn, students have been talking about how learning a new task like knitting requires patience and perseverance.
