Stress & Resilience
understanding stress
Stress isn’t always a bad thing. It can be handy for an extra burst of energy or focus, like when you are playing a competitive sport, or speak publicly. But when it’s continuous, like the kind most of us face day in and day out, it actually begins to change our brain. Chronic stress, like being overworked or having arguments at home can affect brain size, and structure and how it functions right down to the level of your genes.
BECOMING RESILIENT
You don’t have to be born a superhero to overcome any obstacle. It’s not easy being a superhero. They face challenges and obstacles everyday but they never give up. Just like superheroes, you can learn how to build resilience and become unstoppable.
In this unit you will learn more about stress and resilience and then choose one of three task options to complete - creating a stress management plan with tips and tricks to build resilience.
