Prior Learning Inventory

The world is a classroom

Not all learning happens in the classroom!  Complete the inventory below to help your career navigator understand what fields you have experience in.  For work experience, you can earn credit in your electives or CTE.  For every 45 hours, you can receive .25 credits. You can earn up to 4 credits a total of 720 hours. You will need to bring proof that you worked those hours in the specific field. The type of documentation you can bring is a letter from your employer on their letterhead, certificates, licenses, taxes, check stubs, and transcripts.

This list is not exhaustive.  Based on the type of experience you have, your career navigator may be able to apply credit to other content areas as well.  You will need to provide appropriate documentation.  For example, if you enjoy art as a hobby, you might compile a portfolio of work for fine arts credit.  If you have an interest in personal fitness, you might use your workout or meal tracking logs toward a Health/PE credit.  All credits for prior learning must be pre-approved by your career navigator and follow the issuing school district's competency-based credit policy.
