Propaganda Poster
Propaganda Poster
Begin researching at least 3 historical examples of Propaganda that you will use as your inspiration for your final Propaganda Poster.
When looking for these historical examples be looking at composition, colors, and fonts. You are not necessarily looking at the content.
Put these inspiration images on a Google Document and tell me what appeals to you about them.
Now that you have your 3 reference images brainstorm at least 3 current popular culture references that you would like to create your Propaganda Poster about.
ex: The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Facebook, Instagram, TV Shows, Video Games, Movies, Books, etc.
Please list these ideas on the same Google document as your inspiration.
Finally I would like you to chose your final popular culture reference that you would like to use for your poster.
Once you have completed all of your brainstorming, I would like you to roughly sketch out 3 possible ideas for your poster.
Grab a planning sheet from me.
I just want to visually see what you are thinking. they do not have to be perfect drawings.
To create your final poster open a new canvas in Illustrator.

Success:
How effective is your poster? Can you interpret the message quickly?
What is Propaganda? Why are Propaganda posters used?
What was the popular culture reference that you decided upon for your poster? Why?
How did you use your popular culture reference in order to create a Call to Action?
Do you think your final poster was successful? Why or why not? (Include information about craftsmanship, use of the pen tool, overall message and simplicity.)
If there was one thing that you could change or add to make your poster even better what would it be?
