Purpose: Students will investigate how the permeability of a simulated cell membrane affects the movement of water, starch and iodine across the simulated membrane.

Starch placed into Cellulose Tubing and end of tubing sealed
Cellulose tubing containing starch added to beaker with 150 ml of water
Beginning of Experiment TIME = 0
Cellulose tubing : mass 12.38 g
End of Experiment TIME = 10 minutes
