Credit Recovery Policy

Students in Anatomy classes who receive a low exam grade on assessments have the opportunity to improve their understanding and grade by completing an objective writing assignment. This assignment will require students to:

1.) identify incorrect answers and rationale

2.) justify all corrected answers on the exam that were incorrect in writing using an example (hint: explain WHY the correct answer is justified)

3.) statement regarding where in the curriculum was this concept taught (example: was the concept taught in the notes, from a lab, from a homework assignment, etc)

This writing assignment will follow all writing standards used at KHS (see MLA style guide here). ALL assignments under the homework/participation grade category must be completed before the 1 week LATE period. This also includes assignments that may already be counted as a zero grade previous to the 1 week late period.

Students must schedule with the instructor to re-take the exam. No exceptions can be allowed.

Students who do not show up on their scheduled date will lose their retake privilege.

Students may only request Credit Recovery if initial score on assessment falls at or below 90%.

(NOTE: This retake policy covers only the objective portion of unit exams and formative assessments, NOT the lab practical portion since students are allowed to use their lab book as a resource on the lab practical portion of the exam.)
