The Fill Policy allows PSOs the opportunity to add additional competitors to District teams if at the conclusion of the District team selection process not all District teams are able to field a full team (in individual sports only). The purpose of this policy is to ensure the sport can operate a meaningful competition if there is not full participation from each District. All Fill athletes must attend a selection event and pay the athlete registration fee to be eligible.
Fill athletes will be eligible to compete for medals, but their results will not be included in Flag Points or Joe Griffith Award calculations. The Fill athlete will travel to the Games, wear the District walkout uniform, and reside in the village with their home District (e.g., if a Fill Athlete resides in Regina but is competing for Team Prairie Central, they will travel to and from Regina).
All participants of the Saskatchewan Games (including athletes, coaches, managers, mission staff, and officials) must sign and adhere to the Saskatchewan Games Code of Conduct.
The Saskatchewan Games Council is committed to providing a safe and positive environment for all participants of the Saskatchewan Games. The Saskatchewan Games Council supports equal opportunities, prohibits discriminatory practices, and is committed to providing an environment in which all individuals are treated with respect and fairness.
The Coach-Athlete relationship is a privileged one and plays a critical role in the personal, sport, and athletic development of the athlete. Coaches and Managers must understand and respect the inherent power imbalance that exists in this relationship and must be careful not to abuse it, consciously or unconsciously.
Coaches and Managers will:
Set a positive example for their athletes by compliance with all policies, rules and standards of conduct;
Act in the best interest of the athletes’ development as a whole person, avoiding all unsafe and unacceptable circumstances, and seeking advice of appropriate medical personnel before deciding if an injured athlete is to resume competition;
Supervise and be responsible for the conduct of their athletes at all times during the Saskatchewan Games, including during transportation, mealtimes, competition, and down-time;
Be responsible for implementing discipline for an athlete who violates the Code of Conduct. The District Chef de Mission should be contacted to discuss the details of the misconduct and the appropriate disciplinary sanctions that may apply.
Safe Sport: Fast Facts

Youth athletes will receive continuous supervision throughout their time at the Games. Coaches and managers are responsible for the conduct of their athletes at all times during the Games, including during transportation, mealtimes, competition, and down-time.
Coaches and managers will abide by the Rule of Two, ensuring that any one-on-one interaction between a coach and an athlete must take place within earshot and view of the second coach/manager.
Coaches and managers will room separately from athletes at the Athletes' Village.
Any violations of the Code of Conduct or any behaviour contrary to the spirit of the Saskatchewan Games will be subject to disciplinary action. Disciplinary procedures and sanctions are detailed in the Code of Conduct files linked above.
