Homecoming Pep Rally THIS FRIDAY!!! This Friday is our "Night in the Parq" Homecoming Pep Rally. It's WATER PARK THEME!!! Here is the timeline for the day:
12:15pm- leave class to head to the stadium
12:20pm- stadium doors will open. Go sit in your class section marked by your Class Sign.
12:25pm- pep rally begins
REMINDERS!!!
Leave backpacks and cell phones in the classroom. Pep Rally is during class time and phone policy may be enforced.
If you sit in the first few rows of your section, you may get wet. Don't want to get wet, sit in the back.
Pep Rally and Hoco Theme is BLACK OUT!
As always, the pep rally is a class spirit competition so dress in theme, show your spirit, stay standing and have fun!
LAST CHANCE FOR HOMECOMING TICKETS: Homecoming tickets will only be sold on Mon, Tues and Wed at lunch this week. We have to submit the guest list to the venue on Wed so NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER LUNCH ON 8/17. Tickets are now $100 with no ASB card discount.
Homecoming Dance Reminders: Our Homecoming Dance is this Sat 6:30pm-9:30pm at Parq Nightclub Downtown.
You must remain on VIP list to be admitted to the dance. If you fall off the VIP list at anytime for tardies, attendance or behavior you will forfeit your ticket without a refund.
Your ticket (and guest ticket, if applicable) is on your 5 STAR app. If you do not use 5 STAR you will be directed to check in with your physical school ID in a separate line.
No Bags- you will not be admitted with bags larger than 5"x7" and there is no bag check.
Doors close at 7:30pm. Students will not be admitted after 7:30pm.
Students will not be able to leave without a PARENT PRESENT until 9pm.
If you are bringing a guest, YOU MUST CHECK IN WITH YOUR GUEST. Guests will not be admitted to the dance unless they are with their MB student host. GUEST MUST SHOW SCHOOL ID.
There is no designated parking at Parq. Parking downtown can be tough so carpooling, getting a ride or taking public transportation is recommended.

Our first Progress Report term ends this Friday, Sept 19th.
Check your Canvas and Powerschool grades and advocate for yourself when you need support! . Check in with your teacher, attend ACES before or after school, visit TREAT teachers at lunch and get the supports you need! Progress report grades determine your eligibility to participate in Athletics. The P1 Progress Reports will be emailed to parents/guardians on Friday, Sept 26th.
All students must be on the VIP list to attend Homecoming.
Saturday school will be held that day of to make sure everyone has a chance to clear up any attendance issues. Sign up for Saturday School this week
TREAT is held everyday at lunch please report by 1:30 Students can make up a tardy in the auditorium with Mrs. Filamor or with a participating teacher.
Senior contracts are due. Please turn in signed contracts ASAP to your English teacher or Mrs. Filamor. If you are planning on attending the homecoming this contract must be in.
Fall 2025 Student Survey
Goal: Help SDUSD understand how students feel about school and our learning environment. This survey focuses on important topics like:
How connected students feel to their school
Whether students feel safe and supported
How well students handle challenges and setbacks
Student relationships with teachers and peers
Social-emotional well-being and coping strategies

Students may be given time to complete this survey in their 3rd period class this week.

2026 Military Child of the Year® Awards
Every year, Operation Homefront hosts the Military Child of the Year® Awards. The awards are open to military children between the ages of 13-18. There are 7 recipients 1 child from each branch of the services and each recipient receives $10,000 CASH, a laptop, other donated goodies, and a 3-day trip to Washington, DC with their families.
We encourage you to nominate your fellow student/friend as anyone that knows a military child can nominate any military child. Nominations are OPEN NOW through December 2nd! The awards are open to Active Duty, Reserves AND Veteran children. Please see Mr. Bannon in Room 163 for more information.

Sat, Sept 20th Boastal Cleanup Day - The Mission Beach Town Council and “Don't Trash Mission Beach” are collaborating on Saturday, September 20 from 8am - 12pm. Starting on the grass by Belmont Park.
Mon, Sept 22nd Field Trip to CSU San Marcos for 10th Graders - Attention Class of 2028 (10th Graders). SDUSD in partnership with Cal State San Marcos (CSUSM) and funded by the Border Region Talent Pipeline K-16 Collaborative grant, is hosting Mission Bay High School on September 22! This campus tour/visit will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. We have spots for about 80 students. Your 10th grade English teacher will have permission slips. Please have your parents sign them and turn into the main office right away! First come, first served. If you have any questions - please see Mr. Camacho in the library.
Wed, Sept 24th Girls Waterpolo Meeting - We're gearing up for Winter season! All interested girls are invited to come to room 332 (ASB) on Wednesday, September 24th at lunch for an informational meeting.
