We had our first astronomy session today! It was mostly admin work, such as assigning groups, but I also learnt how to use different telescopes, and learnt more about telescopes in general.
2/3/2022
I found the part about the black holes interesting. I think that the presentation was made interesting and engaging.
9/3/2022
I learnt about the dark forest theory. This lesson can be improved by allowing fewer interruptions from the class as we almost could not finish because of time constraints. I would like to see which planets are habitable.

31/8/2022
we did reflections, and we did a short group sharing.
The lesson can be improved by letting us choose our groupmates for the project
No i would not like this lesson to be repeated especially if i cannot choose my group m
19/9/2022

last lesson until EOY
18/1/2023
We played KSP, and I managed to land on the moon. KSP is very fun, and the lesson was informative. I also made a custom flag.

We played KSP again and i managed to get to the mun again, i also learned about menuvers
22/2/2023
Very interesting to learn about extraterrestial life and the fermi paradox,We also played KSP again and i managed to get to the mun again, i also learned about menuvers
5/3/2023
We watched a movie called "Gravity"; I thought it was a very entertaining movie.
Very Interesting movie about how the Russians decided to blow up their broken spy satellite, cause a massive debris field which destroyed the "Explorer", killed three out of five of the crew, and ejected a woman named Ryan into space and mission commander Kowalski, Kowalski then finds Ryan, and they make it to the ISS, but then Kowalski started drifting away, pulling Ryan with him, Kowalski decides sacrifices himself to let Ryan save herself, she gets onto the Soyuz onboard the ISS, makes it to TianGong, realises she cannot read mandarin, randomly presses buttons, makes it back to earth, nearly drowns in a lake while trying to get out of TianGong.
12/3/2023
We learned about the solar system
Key takeaways:
the earth is flat, the moon is made of cheese, pluto is a planet(not really)
there are 8 planets in the solar system; Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus,Neptune
then we played kahoot and i did not win so i rate it 1/5
23/3/2023
We learnt about stellar evoluton
It was very interesting
We learnt about
Molecular Clouds
Open clusters
Protostars
Massive stars
Massive stars: Red dwarfs
Massive stars: Hypergiants
Low Mass Star
Brown Dwarf
Hertzberg Russell Diagram
Red Supergiants
Type 2 supernova
Supernova remnants
And many more but there are too many to list out. We also learnt about the stellar life cycle
26/4/2023
We learnt about The creation of the universe even though we did that last year. It was interesting I learnt about the Big bang theory which might be false.
3/5/23
We learnt about space exploration over the years and the missions like apollo and the upcoming artemis mission. we learnt about thrust to weight ratio and we also had a kahoot.
17/5/23
We learnt about space exploration and some of the exoplanets that have been discovered.
28/6/23
We played KSP, and we learnt how to make an SSTO(single stage to orbit). I managed to make mine reach Mach6 speeds. it was very fun
5/7/23
We learnt about SkyHooks, which was a concept for a space transport system. it was interesting learning about the concept and its limitations. we also watched a video about another concept and about a theoretical swarm of satellites orbiting the sun to give us energy.
Skyhook
26/7/2023
We learnt about ancient space beliefs from other civilisiations. it was very interesting to learn about their ideas and perception of the sun and planets
1/8/2023
We listened to a talk about volcanos in the solar system and the universe. It was very interesting and I learnt alot from this opportunity.
For example, I learnt about different types of volcanic rock Rhyolite: sticky, Andesite: sticky, Dacite: sticky
Basalt: not sticky
16/8/2023
I learned about orbital paths etc, we did a gravity simulation and I created a very cool orbit. https://lab.nationalmedals.org/gravity.php

17/1/2024
We had two lectures. one on black holes, one on celestial mechanics, which were interesting.
7/2/2024
Today, we learned about general relativity.
It was a very interesting and informative session.
Some things I learned were the Equivalence principle, time dilation and Albert Einstein's participation.
I think the session could be improved by increasing audience engagement.
27/3/24
Today we learned about nuclear theory and nuclear fission/fusion. We also learnt about. It was not really an interesting session, I think it can be improved by having a different presenter and less wordy slides.
24/4
we did ksp today. We finally landed on the mun, and I almost made it to minmus
26/6
I learnt about astro events in june, and kepler's work on mars' orbit. I can use astro competition skills to join cimpetitions next year
10/7
I learnt about galaxies today.
17/7
Today we learned about planets and celestial bodies in our solar system, and we had a KSP session after that. I think it can be improved by making the lesson more engaging instead of just giving us all the facts about the planets.
31/7
Today we learnt about tides and the effect the moon has on the earth's tides, and we learnt about solar storms and aurora borealis. We also learnt about the time standards and terrestrial time.
7/8/2024
Today we has two presentations. one on the milky way and one on the sun.
28/8/24
Today, we had an activity where we made our own presentations on Elephant toothpaste and the potential of using it as a propellant for rockets. Unfortunately, due to inadequate leadership, the activity was planned poorly, and we were given insufficient information to effectively carry out the task. However, due to miscommunications, we did not access the instructions in the WhatsApp group chat as we were instructed not to use WhatsApp. I think Astro club needs needs to improve on their communications
11/9/24
Today we had a ksp activity. An alumni came back to SST to teach us about the software, although I already know how to use it, but it was still quite fun and informative
5/2/2025
I learnt about comets, stars, also we did an activity with universe sandbox.
12/2/2025

5/3/2025
We learnt about meteors, solar system planets etc.
12/3/2025
Today we had a hands on activity using universe sandbox. We had to create a planet that is habitable. It was surprisingly challenging for what seemed like a simple task. It is interesting to see how minute changes in the universe is makes such large differences.
26/3/2025
We learnt about telescopes
