PRE-CHINA FUNDING VERSUS REIMBURSEMENT - WHICH IS BETTER FOR YOU?
THESE ARE NOT LOANS - THEY ARE FULLY SANCTIONED GRANTS WHICH DO NOT NEED PAYING BACK TO US
Advance Funding means that money is paid to you BEFORE you get to China to help you get there. This is recouped from your salary on a month by month basis until the end of the contract (to help spread the costs)
Advance Reimbursement means that money is paid to you BEFORE you get to China, but you must initially pay for the document processing, then money is released as soon as the receipt has been scanned and sent to Verbal Education China
Post-Arrival Reimbursement is the most usual way of operating. It means that you pay for the necessary document processing in your home country, then, when you arrive in China you receive the money back (in RMB) as a direct payment IN ADDITION to your salary.
We know that graduates cannot always afford to fork out hundreds of pounds on legalisation, medical and visa fees, as well as a flight - all within a short time window. These schemes has been developed to support people who are right for this role, committed to working in partnership with TeachChina and VEC, but would simply struggle if they did not have funds to make the dream happen.
This is a unique and bold step, as with any kind of front-loaded funding, there is always the chance that you may pull back and decide not to take up your post. In these cases, we have a failsafe in that we ask you to find someone to underwrite you, but the reality is that if you've come as far as the conditions we've put in place, the likelihood is that you're fired up and desperate to get out there and immerse yourself in a new and exciting world.
