Alright grade 6. The past two and a half weeks have focused on the elements of a story. Now that we have examined ALL of these elements it is time for you to start brainstorming ideas for your own story. Please remember that if you need a review, you use the links below to review our previous lessons to help you plan your own story.
One thing to consider is that your plan for the story needs to contain all the required elements of a story (plot, characters, conflict, theme, setting and point of view) but the way you tell your story NEXT WEEK may not have to be the traditional way to tell a story so please be as creative or realistic as you like.
Now that you have reviewed the story elements and your creative juices are flowing please use the Padlet I have creative to help brainstorm ideas you might have for a story and try and help your classmates with their own brainstorming activity. You DO NOT need to add tiles to our Padlet this week but some of the best story ideas come from brainstorming together. Some ways you can contribute are:
Post your own story idea you have and any details you want to include
Add an image that could inspire a story, setting etc.
Provide a "prompt" that might help a classmate come up with their own idea.
This Padlet today has been created to be an interactive space to share and comment on each other's ideas. We don't have the luxury of being at school to do this so we have to find a way to share ideas and the Padlet seems the best option.
Please be sure to sign in on your Google account OR include your name so your classmates know who is sharing the ideas and also include it in the comments.
Keep in mind that you will need to find a classmate you might be able to collaborate with later this week when you have completed your story outline.
