Yesterday we looked at characters and the types of characters that we see in stories like an antagonist vs a protagonist. In stories, there will be a problem between these characters, an issue a character is facing themselves and this is conflict in a story.
A conflict is the problem or struggle that a character faces in a story.
Character vs. Character - a conflict between two characters
Character vs. Nature - a conflict between a character and the setting or a force of nature, such as a storm.
Character vs. Self - a conflict within a character as they struggles with difficult problems.
Character vs Society- a conflict between a character as they deal with an issue in society.
Character vs Supernatural- a conflict with a supernatural element ie. ghost etc.
Character vs Technology- a conflict that results from advancement in technology.
For today's activity, use the Google Slideshow template that has been shared on Google Classroom to create a presentation that provides examples for the types of conflict in literature. You will need to include:
Definition of conflict and a visual to represent conflict
Definition (in your words) of each type of conflict, an example from a novel, movie, tv show, video game etc (anything where storytelling is happening) and a visual/image for each.
character vs character
character vs self
character vs nature/elements
Bonus* Come up with an example for:
character vs society
character vs supernatural
character vs technology
You can make the slideshow as fancy or as simple as you like. The importance is for you to come up with a definition and visual example for each
