Introductory Information
This registration guide has been prepared to assist students in selecting courses for next year. Planning for life after high school can begin now as you choose classes to explore interests and develop skills that will help you later on.
Please use this time to consider your options and discuss your plans with your parents and teachers. You can use the links in the menu above to explore required classes, electives, and graduation requirements. You will also be able to access all of the forms and instructions needed to complete the registration process.
Read the course descriptions to find out about the classes offered.
Each class can only be taken once. (Don't sign up for a class if you already took it!)
Think about if you really NEED a study hall or if you can make better use of your time by taking a class to explore a new topic or interest.
Once you sign up for a class, you are committing to it. Choose wisely!
If you have questions, please ask the teacher, Ms. Karnitz, or Mr. Ewing.
How the Registration Process Works
Each student is given the opportunity to select required and elective classes in the spring.
Students are also asked to select "alternate" classes in case one of their first choices does not fit into their schedule.
We use those choices to create the master schedule for the year. The master schedule shows which semester/period each class will be held.
Once the master schedule is complete, the office will work to fit each student's choices into their schedule.
Student schedules will be distributed in the summer/fall before school begins.
Schedule changes are very limited and will only be approved for certain circumstances.
Schedule changes will not be approved because you changed your mind. We select which classes will be on the schedule and which period they are offered based on what you select during registration. Making changes after the schedule has been created disrupts section sizes and other students.
Schedule changes will not be approved because you want to be with your friend. Each person should choose classes based on their own interests.
