Preparation and performance of choral literature is the main focus of Concert Choir. Music study covers information for gaining basic knowledge of music history, theory, form, texture, styles and music of other cultures. Rehearsal techniques strive to develop fundamental tone production and good vocal health. Meets 25 minutes every day, during an established home room "5A" period. Taking choir will fill your art credit once you complete 2 years.

Band

Grades 9-12

Full  Year


Band offers the students the opportunity to expand their musical background through performance. Literature studied during rehearsal covers a wide variety of styles from classical transcriptions to jazz and popular music. Students will expand their skills of tone production, sight-reading, use and understanding of musical terms, and technical skills on their instrument. Composers and background information on music is also covered during rehearsals. All students who are in band will participate in all public performances for concert band, pep band and special events. Band students will also have the opportunity to increase their skills by participating in honor bands, small ensembles, All-State Band auditions and preparing solos for contest.Taking band will fill your art credit once you complete 1 year.
