Small Engine Repair

Grades 10-12

1 Semester

This course will teach the basic theory of operation of 2 and 4 cycle engines, to include, but not limited to the following topics: shop and tool safety, components of a small engine, small engine fuel systems, small engine ignition systems, use of test equipment, and small engine overhaul. Projects may include disassembling and assembling a small engine, performing maintenance on small engines, and troubleshooting small engine problems. 

Auto I

Grades 10-12

1 Semester

This course will teach students the basic preventative maintenance and repairs of the automobile. Basic internal combustion engine theory, suspension systems, electrical systems and braking systems are some of the topics discussed in this class. Shop activities will include: oil changes, tire mounting, balancing, and repairs. We will also cover coolant system maintenance, electrical charging system maintenance and repair, and brake system repairs.
