Senior Refresher Math

Grade 12

This class is for seniors looking to sharpen their overall math skills before they head off to college or to the world of work. Topics will include a review of math concepts and basic number sense (such as working with fractions and decimals). Additionally, this class will include explorations into personal and business finance, basic probability and statistics, math in your daily life, and other math topics. The goal of this class is to make you feel confident in your ability to succeed in your first college (two year or four year) math course and to have the skills necessary to be successful in the workforce. Prerequisite: Advanced Algebra or Probability & Statistics Concepts



College Algebra

A study of the fundamental concepts of algebra.  Topics include: complex numbers and the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra; polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic functions and their graphs and limits; and systems of equations with matrix applications. The class will prepare students to take the CLEP College Algebra test. Students must meet the GPA and class rank requirements listed under "college credit opportunities"

AP Statistics

This is a college-level introductory statistics course typically required for many majors including business, all sciences (including social and health), engineering, education, and mathematics.  This class will explore data patterns, plan and conduct a study, explore random phenomena using probability and simulation, and estimate population parameters and test hypotheses. Inferential statistics, the standard normal curve, and confidence intervals will be covered. The class will prepare students to take the AP Statistics Exam given each spring. Students must meet the GPA and class rank requirements listed under "college credit opportunities"
