Lesson 1 - Creating a paper based database
In this lesson, we learnt about what a database really is - a place where you store information. We created our own records about different animals and then organised them in groups. We felt this way wasn't the most effective way to sort information!
Lesson 2 - Computer databases
In this lesson, we learnt all the correct terminology when it comes to databases. We learnt about records, fields and ways to sort the information to find answers. We also learnt about how important it is to use facts in a database, because people are relying on you for the truth!
Lesson 3 - Using a database
In this lesson, we learnt all about how to search for information on a database. We were given questions to answer and learnt how to manipulate the order and grouping of the information, so that we could answer them. Once we were finished, we came up with our own questions for the class!
