Creating Media

Audio Editing

Lesson 1 - Digital recording

In today's lesson we had to identify inputs (microphone) and outputs (headphones or speakers) when it comes to audio. We also discussed ownership and copyright issues relating to the recording of audio and then recorded our own voices, thinking about how we could improve it next time!

Lesson 2 - Recording Sounds

In today's lesson, we worked in partners to record our voices. We learnt about waveforms and what they represent. Then we learnt what podcasts were. We listened to three, picked out some key elements and then started planning ideas for our own!

Lesson 3 - Creating a Podcast

Today, we started planning our own podcasts! Using everything we have learnt from last lesson about other podcasts, we planned our own. We can talk about anything we like, as long as it relates to our school. Our ideas were organised into the introduction, main content and outro. We also started practicing what we were going to say and next lesson, we are going to record them properly!

Lesson 4 - Creating and editing digital recordings

In this lesson, we had time to rehearse and then record our podcasts! Lots of us were very nervous but we were resilient and used our Gosport Future of Speaking. We are so excited to put music and sound effects with our recordings to make them sound professional.

Lesson 5 - Combining audio

It was time to edit our podcasts! In this lesson, we added all of our files and edited out any mistakes or long pauses. We also started to think about what music and SFX we wanted to add to make it sound even better.

Lesson 6 - Evaluating Podcasts

In this lesson, we added all of our music and SFX and then shared our finished podcasts wit hthe class. It was really interesting to listen to other groups, to see what they had done similarly and differently. Our podcasts will be added soon - so keep your eyes peeled!
