Creating Media

Animation

Lesson 1 - Can a picture move?

In today's lesson, we started our new project all about animation! We realised we had seen a lot of animation in films already but could a picture really move? We thought NO! Miss Parker made us all flip books and we had to tell a story with a stick man. It was really hard at first but at the end, we all had an amazing stick man story to share! At the end of the lesson, Miss Parker asked again, can a picture really move? This time, we said YES!

Lesson 2 - Frame by frame

In this lesson, we had to predict what an animation would look like just by looking at the pictures. We then worked in partners to create our own stop motion videos with a whiteboard. It was so much fun!

Lesson 3 - What's the story?

This lesson was very exciting! First, we had to make a storyboard. This was so our ideas were clear and we knew exactly what we were going to make. Then, we had to create our characters and backdrops. We can't wait to start making our stop motion animations!

Lesson 4 - Picture perfect

We finally created our own stop motion animations in today's lesson! It was really tricky, and we had to be very resilient but we were so proud of our work!

Lesson 5 - Lights, camera, action!

In today's lesson, we added other media to our animations. We could include music and text. Music helps set the mood and makes it more exciting and text can help explain!
