Traffic Route Baltic Sea – the impact of transport and travelling
March 15, 2025 from CET 11.00 till 14.00 (EET 12.00-15.00)
Next BASRAN webinar on 15th of March 2025 will focus on „Traffic Route Baltic Sea – the impact of transport and travelling “
Maritime trade is one of the most important means of transportation in world economy. Cruise industry has one of the highest growth rates in tourism, and leisure sailing is a very popular way of recreational time spending for many people living next to the Baltic shores. This significance goes hand in hand with different pressures on the marine ecosystem. Underwater noise affects health and communication of marine fauna, traditional ship propulsion technologies contribute with their carbon dioxide emissions to air pollution and eutrophication and marine mass tourism can lead to recurrent peak burdens for infrastructure in some coastal areas.
This BASRAN webinar aims to take a deep dive into this topic involving experts and projects trying to find solutions.
