thanks again for joining our BASRAN webinar “Plastic Pollution in the Oceans” on March 14!

We got some great insights into the current science, the political and social landscape, and ways to take action—especially with initiatives like Rotary EndPlasticSoup.

Now we’d love to keep that momentum going and turn it into real action around the Baltic Sea and beyond. That’s exactly what the BASRAN Action Committee “Beach Cleaning and Macro and Micro Plastic” is about.

No worries—this isn’t meant to become anything complicated or bureaucratic. The idea is simply to build a relaxed network of people who want to share ideas, start projects, and learn from each other. We’re People of Action, after all 

As a first step, we’d like to collect and highlight existing projects around the Baltic Sea that deal with beach cleaning and macro/microplastic. The goal is to share these as easy-to-follow examples that others can copy or build on. At the same time, we’d love to kick off some cross-border projects together.

We’re planning a first online meeting where some of these projects can be presented. It would also be great to have at least one contact person from each BASRAN country—plus anyone else who wants to get involved.

During that meeting, we can also decide how often we’d like to meet going forward (maybe twice a year online?). 

And let’s keep things informal—first names are perfect
