Who can participate in the Baltic Sea RYLAs?
- 2-3 young people (aged 18-30) from each Baltic Sea country
- 5 additional Lithuanian participants will be invited
- 4 Rotarians as instructors and camp leaders
Our point is that we would like the individual participants to establish ties across national borders through this RYLA and so that they in the long run can make a greater effort to improve environmental quality and living conditions for animals/biodiversity and people in and around the Baltic Sea.
Preferably graduates or students from science faculties.

Travel to Palanga from Klaipėda by Ferry. If you are arriving by ferry to Klaipėda, here’s how to continue to Palanga:
Arriving in Klaipėda:

• Once you disembark, you can travel onward to Palanga.
🚍 From Klaipėda to Palanga:

• The ride is approximately 30–45 minutes.
• Tickets can be bought at the station or onboard.
2. Taxi / Ride-hailing:
• Taxis from Klaipėda ferry port directly to Palanga take around 30–40 minutes.
• Recommended if you have luggage or arrive late.
💡 Helpful Tips for Participants
Plan your arrival date a day before the event starts (recommended 2 Sept) to avoid delays.
Check local bus schedules in advance, especially if arriving later in the evening.
If arriving via Klaipėda port, confirm which terminal your ferry arrives at (some long-distance routes have dedicated passenger terminals).
Save offline maps or transport apps in case of limited mobile data.
BASRAN Baltic Sea RYLA - what is it?
It is a leadership training applied to the environmental challenges of the Baltic Sea.
The BASRAN Baltic Sea RYLA Camp is intended for young adults from the (currently) eight Baltic Sea countries, i.e. the BASRAN member countries – even though these countries belong to different Rotary Zones.
The overall aim of the training is twofold :
1/to improve participants’ knowledge of the challenges facing this maritime environment and possible actions to remedy the situation.
2/ to assess and develop participants’ ability to initiate and lead local projects focusing on saving the maritime environment.
