This project related to strategic direction 1.1 focused on learning progressions within the school. As the project was co-led between the Head Teachers of Mathematics and English there was an explicit focus in the area of literary and numeracy. The plan under this specific project was to up skill our staff to make sure that we can ensure the growth of students in external testing such as NAPLAN and Minimum Standards.
As a result of these initiatives we have seen:
Past pattern of Student Growth and Achievement in NAPLAN, as a result of a strong school wide focus on literacy and numeracy.
Strong VALID Results demonstrating above state average growth, reflecting strong literacy focus.
The team developed universal literary and numeracy programs targeted at years 7 - 10 to give students the opportunity to develop and refine their literacy and numeracy skills.
