2019 History Bowl
Meet Ms. Kaylie Gore!
What motivated you to return to CCS-America as a teacher?
I attended this school back in 2019, when it was known as Charter Day School. When I saw an ad for CCS-America, I was elated! I decided to return here because I want to be a part of the mission that got me started. I want to help set kids up on a path of success that will follow them their whole lives.
How has your experience as a student here influenced your teaching approach?
As a student of Charter Day, I admired the one-on-one approach I received in every class. I liked how well the teachers monitored who was on what level and approached boundaries with caution and care. I have tried to mimic those same characteristics in my teaching approach.
In what ways do you think the school(s) have changed since you were a student, and how does that impact your teaching?
The school has changed a lot since I attended five years ago. The school has changed a lot since I attended five years ago. Certain aspects of the day have been slightly modified to continue adding positive effects to the learning environment. I remember in my 8th grade year, we didn't have a gym, we didn't have a curriculum building, and our schedule was very straight forward with less variety.
What advice do you have for current students based on your journey from student to teacher here?
To all of the students that are currently attending, make sure that you pay attention to how much the teachers are there for you. I didn't pay attention, but I knew that no matter what happened, my teachers were banking on my success, and their only goal was to help us achieve our biggest dreams through our education. These teachers are hands-down the best around. Because of them, I am back on campus only five years later. I am a college graduate with two associates degrees, set to graduate with my Bachelors in 2024, and then my Masters in 2025... all before I turn 21! I am who I am today because of The Roger Bacon Academy.
