Background
After graduating from Columbus Charter School, I attended Columbus Career and College Academy from 9th to 12th grade. During my time at Columbus Career and College Academy, I became a member of SkillsUSA, the National Honors Society, and a school group named Ambassadors. Going into high school, I had a great mindset thanks to Columbus Charter School. I obtained not only my high school diploma, but also graduated with an Associate Degree in Science and an Associate Degree in Arts.
How did your time at the Roger Bacon Academy prepare you for your endeavors?
My time at Columbus Charter School prepared me for my life. I know it sounds cliché to say that, but it is very true. Learning the ideals that CCS instills helped me throughout my time in school, and also transferred into my daily life. Being studious is something I learned from CCS but also respecting people, having a clear mind, and being a functioning member of society are traits that I developed. Overall, my time at CCS not only prepared me for school, but also on how to carry the standards I have learned throughout my everyday life.
How has your Roger Bacon Academy education shaped who you are as a person and in your career?
My time at Columbus Charter School shaped me into the young adult I am today. While I was in high school, my teachers at Columbus Career and College Academy talked about how students from CCS are different from the students that came from other schools. My history teacher told me that you can tell a CCS student by their attentiveness, dedication, and overall studious behavior. She said that Charter School students are her best students, and she loves teaching them. Throughout my high school years, I used my Charter School mindset in every class and was honored for it; my past teachers always told me how bright I was. During my time at Columbus Charter School, I did not understand the impact the School Pledge would have on me. The Pledge is forever stuck in my head and has truly shaped my standard for life. I am thankful for my time at Columbus Charter School and all the school has done for me.
