All grading policies of online students are consistent with the policies followed by our on-campus students. All grading policies and information within this manual will apply to our online students.
Students will be required to submit their coursework using Google Classroom as the official method of turning in assignments. Google Classroom training will be provided to all students and parents upon entry to the online school. Students’ official grades will be entered into PowerSchool for reporting purposes.
To be successful in the online classroom, the student must abide by the following requirements to remain in the online learning classroom:
Communication: Students are responsible for communicating with their online teacher via Google Classroom and all other communication venues.
Live sessions: Students are expected to be an active participant in live Zoom sessions.
Self-motivation: Students should be self-directed in their online learning. Students will need to submit independent work assignments to their teachers in a timely manner by designated due dates.
Computer Literacy: Students should be able to use basic computer skills, like email, maneuvering the internet, and basic keyboarding.
Time Management Skills: Students must be able to organize themselves and manage their independent work to ensure online learning success.
Personal Commitment: Students must have an intrinsic and personal desire to learn online. Online learning is not bound to the structure of the traditional setting and a student’s desire to learn needs to be of the utmost priority.
Academic Integrity: Students should be responsible for completing the assignments with high academic integrity, showcasing their own work.
Organization: Students must be prepared to do their work in a productive environment, limiting distractions, and with the necessary materials. Parents will be responsible for picking up materials from the student’s home campus throughout the year.
