We are following CDC and NCDHHS guidelines for screening children prior to entering our facility and monitoring during their stay. For child check-in and check-out, we ask that one parent or guardian accompanies their children to the classroom/building door. Parent/Guardians will not be allowed in the building and must adhere to the social distancing markings we have placed outside building door while waiting to check-in and check-out.
At check-in, and throughout your child's stay, we are screening all children for the following symptoms:
Fever of 100.4F or higher (we will take each child's temperature);
Persistent cough;
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing;
Vomiting;
Diarrhea or unusual stools;
Persistent runny nose;
Unexplained rash (must have a doctor's note)
Further, we ask that you do not bring your child to camp if you have reason to believe your child has been exposed, directly or indirectly, to anyone actively infected with COVID-19 in the last 14 days (including air travel). We also recommend that you do not bring your child to camp if you or a member of your household is at higher risk of developing a severe illness related to COVID-19.
For your safety and ours, we reserve the right to refuse entry to (or discontinue the visit of) any child who exhibits the above symptoms or may have recently been exposed to COVID-19.
ADDITIONAL PROTOCOLS
In addition to the above guidelines, we have enhanced our already high standards for cleanliness and sanitization and have implemented a number of additional protocols to remain as safe as practicable. Specifically, we are:
Operating at 50% capacity and encouraging 6-foot social distancing;
Requiring masks of all staff members and children 11+ years old;
Checking the temperature of all staff and children daily;
Requiring hand sanitization of all adults and children upon entry;
Cleaning our classrooms and playgrounds used for camp daily, and sanitizing high-contact surfaces and other focus areas multiple times daily;
Washing all hands prior to and after meals, bathroom breaks, and any other time our staff deem necessary;
Wearing disposable gloves when assisting with snack/lunch;
Assigning a bag of supplies to each camp student for their single use throughout the camp (to be kept at camp);
Encouraging children to avoid high-contact play and organizing more activities in small groups;
Limiting sharing of toys, games, and supplies when possible;
Sanitizing toys, games, and supplies used in activities after each use; and
Providing specified areas for personal belongings that are properly spaced.
Finally, we ask that you limit your child's personal belongings to only those essential items such as a lunch box and a water bottle.
