By hosting a RISD event, on or off campus, all members of the RISD community have a responsibility to be aware of and abide by all applicable college policies. Below is a list of frequently referenced event-related policies. Additional college policies can be found on policies.risd.edu.

Step 1: Define your goals, your team and budget - 9- month leadtime
Step 2: Choose your dates - 9 month lead time
Step 3: Reserve your space (on or off RISD campus) atleast 6-months in advance
Step 4: Arrange Catering and Equipment Needs
Note: Food and Beverage served in any campus setting must be provided by RISD Catering.
Order food and beverages via RISD Catering.
Catering Spending must be compliant with RISD Spending Guidelines or Insitutional Advancement Event Guidelines
Step 5: Ensure a safe Event. Comply with RISD Public Safety Requirements
Catering Spending must be compliant with RISD Spending Guidelines or Insitutional Advancement Event Guidelines,
Food and Beverage served in any campus setting should be provided by RISD Catering. Order food and beverages via RISD Catering.
If RISD Caters cannot accomodate an event then an authorized outside caterer may be used.
Alcohol may only be served at RISD evnts must comply with the alcohol policy listed in Catering and Entertainment Policy.
Contracts need to be created for catering, performers, other suppliers. See Procurement , Independent Contractor, or Performers pages.
Remember all contracts and purchases must adhear to the RISD Procurment Policy and Bidding Requirements.
