A day in the Academy

Our Academy day begins at 8.45am. The doors to the Academy open at 8:15am and students make their way to their tutor group which begins at 8.45am. We have no bells in the Academy and staff will be in the corridors to help you to find your tutor room and let you know when it's time to go to class. Lessons are all one hour long - we have 5 lessons during the school day. During the morning you have a 15 minute break when we like you to go outside to get some fresh air. We make sure there are footballs available for those who want to have a game as well!

There will be students from all our local primary schools in your tutor group. Tutor groups all have a country name and these countries are then split into continents. You will find out which country and continent you are in on your first day. Your tutor will be your mentor in school, they are there for any questions you might have and will be able to help with anything you are unsure of. You will have your tutor group every day at the same time.

Each year group has their own half hour lunch break . You can bring a packed lunch or buy food from the canteen.

The teaching day finishes at 2.50pm and again, there will be staff around in the corridors and outside school in case you have any questions about your day. We have lots of different after school activities we'd love you to get involved in: sports fixtures, cooking, lego, fitness and many more. We call these enrichments.
