Universities usually have a code of ethics that all members of the community - students, staff, faculty, administrators, and governing board - are expected to embrace. All university codes vary slightly in format and specificity, but they all share a common focus on integrity and honesty.

Rice University's code has several clauses within relating to Research, and in particular those areas of research where an ethical standard for research integrity must be met.
