The Curriculum and Instruction for the Gifted Learner Course is one of two graduate courses required for Gifted and Talented endorsement. The course will be offered virtually Feb. 16th, Feb. 23rd, Mar. 2nd, Mar. 9th, Mar. 16th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 3 graduate credits. The Conversational Spanish II course is for educators interested in a course the supports a conversational level of language acquisition. Participants must have completed the Conversational Spanish I course. The course is open to all K-12 educators, but district ESOL teachers will be given priority. The course will be offered face-to-face Feb. 22nd, Mar. 1st, Mar. 8th, Mar. 15th, Mar. 22nd from 4:15 - 7:15 pm. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 3 graduate credits. The goal of the Culturally Responsive Classroom Instruction course is enable, support, and prepare participants to be culturally competent educators who are 1) aware of socially equitable practices that promote student engagement and high quality learning experiences for all students in Rock Hill School District 2) empowered with a strong understanding of culturally responsive pedagogy and its practices 3) knowledgeable leaders within their contexts so that they may be agents of change in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The course will be offered face-to-face from Jan. 19th-March 9th from 4:30-6:30 pm. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 3 graduate credits. The Effective Classroom Management Strategies course focuses on best practices in classroom management that meet the diverse needs of learners who are included in the general education classroom. Knowledge about and experiences with diverse learners is applied to support the success of all learners, including those with exceptionalities. This course will prepare educators to feel confident as classroom managers, and help them know their professional responsibilities not only on the first day of school but for the entire school year. The course is open to all K-12 educators. The course will be offered face-to-face Jan. 26th, Feb. 2nd, 9th, 16th (asynchronous) 23rd, Mar. 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th from 4:30-6:00 pm. Those who successfully complete the course will earn 30 renewal credits. If interested, please complete the course interest form by January 9th. This course is the one required course for the Read to Succeed endorsement for middle and high school teachers. The course title is Reading and Writing in the Content Areas. The course is a nine weeks course beginning February 2, 2023- March 30, 2023. There are 4 face-to-face sessions and 5 asynchronous online sessions. The course is worth 60 recertification points.
