Accelerate Mathematics (11MAX)
This course is a comprehensive and dynamic mathematics course, which is designed to fully prepare and equip students with a solid foundation in mathematics by covering all aspects of the Level 1 mathematics standards.
This course aims to foster a deep understanding of key mathematical concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and enhance problem-solving abilities. Assessments will include a combination of internal and external evaluations, providing a balanced measure of student progress and achievement.

Mathematics with Algebra Focus (11MAT)
11MAT is a Level 1 Mathematics course designed for students who enjoy problem-solving, logical reasoning, and working with patterns and relationships. With a strong focus on algebra and geometry, this course lays a solid foundation for more advanced mathematical study in senior years.
Students will develop their skills in algebraic manipulation, solving equations, graphing, and exploring geometric properties, including angle reasoning and trigonometry. Number, measurement and statistical investigation concepts are also integrated to strengthen core numeracy and support deeper mathematical thinking.

The course focuses on number skills, measurement, percentages, ratios, and interpreting data in everyday contexts. Students will develop their ability to solve problems, use mathematical reasoning, and make informed decisions in familiar situations such as budgeting, time management, and using graphs or tables.
Assessment is primarily through the Numeracy Common Assessment Activity CAA). 11MAL is suitable for students who need extra support with maths and provides a pathway into foundation Level 2 Mathematics or vocational learning.

In this course ākonga will explore Hauora in relation to individuals, whānau and communities and to explore the interconnection between physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.

We explore cause and effect, as well as the continuity, and change of historical narratives over time. In an Aotearoa New Zealand context, History allows ākonga to nurture a growing awareness of Te Tiriti o Waitangi — its provisions, values, and ongoing relevance.
History presents ākonga with the dilemmas, choices, and beliefs of people in the past. They will draw from key concepts such as mana, tūrangawaewae and whakapapa to examine actions and events in the past that have been significant to whānau, hapū, iwi, and communities within Aotearoa New Zealand.

Level 1 Horticulture provides students with opportunities to investigate the life processes of plants and how they are managed in primary production, the relevance of primary production to people, location, environment and sustainability and practical experiences of growing plants.
