Year 11 students at Rotorua Girls’ High School Rautāwhiri embark on a pivotal year as students undertake their first year of the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA). The compulsory subjects Mathematics and English provide a strong emphasis on building proficiency and meeting the compulsory literacy and numeracy requirements. These subjects are complemented with the choice of a further three subjects that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication, all essential skills that prepare students for the academic rigours of their education and future career pathways. Year 11 is a crucial stepping stone where students consolidate their academic achievements, demonstrate their learning through NCEA assessments, and pave the way for future academic and career aspirations in New Zealand and beyond.
