RVHS Cardinal Pathways
The pathway sequence is designed to help students and their families plan, prepare and connect coursework in high school with post-secondary college and career opportunities. Students will explore various career fields through classes and authentic learning experiences.
The Cardinal Pathways are adapted from the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota State College & University System’s Minnesota Career Fields Wheel found HERE.
Listed below are the six Cardinal Pathways offered at RVHS:
Do I have to choose only one pathway?
Students are not limited by the Cardinal Pathways. The Pathways are intended to help find courses that match student interests and future post-secondary plans. Students can take courses from many different Pathways, as long as RVHS graduation requirements are met.

Success in the New Economy was created to, "help a broader audience begin to understand preparation today for tomorrow’s labor market realities. The end result is a compelling case for students to explore career choices early, make informed decisions when declaring their college education goal, and to consider technical skill acquisition, real-world application and academics (career technical programs) in tandem with a classic education." - Substance Media
