RVHS high school student-athletes who want to play Division 1 or II athletics in college must be certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Students who have plans to participate as student-athletes at Division I or Division II schools must meet specific academic and test score requirements in order to be eligible to participate their first year in college. For all eligibility requirements, please refer to the NCAA Clearinghouse website.
Students should check with their counselors to see what courses meet the academic requirements of the NCAA. Students should register with the Clearinghouse and submit a transcript, late in their junior year or early in their senior year.
Prospective NCAA Division I or II student-athletes:
Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Proof of graduation.
Grade point average of at least 2.3 on a 4.0 scale in core courses.
Abide by: DIVISION I & II 16 Core Courses:
4 yrs. of English.
3 yrs. of Mathematics (Algebra I or higher).
2 yrs. of Natural/Physical Science (1 year of lab)
1 yr. of additional English, Math or Natural/Physical science.
2 yrs. of Social Science.
4 yrs. of additional courses (from any area above, Foreign Language or Non-Doctrinal Religion/Philosophy).
4. Complete 10 core courses (before senior year):
2 credits in English
2 credits in Math
2 credits in Natural/Physical science
Once you begin your 2nd semester, you may not repeat or replace any of those 10 courses to improve your core-course GPA.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics is a college athletics association for small colleges and universities in North America. For the 2023-2024 season, it has 251 member institutions, of which two are in British Columbia, one in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the rest in the conterminous United States.
Eligibility Requirements:
For entering college freshmen, they must meet two of these requirements:
Achieve a minimum overall high school GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
Graduate in the top half of their high school class
Achieve the NAIA's minimum test score requirement (only one test score is required):
ACT: 18
SAT: 970
